Most wifi boxes barely extend the signal more than 4 or 5 metres in any give direction, this range is reduced even further if it is trying to go through multiple walls and doors, so everyone's home is going to want a wifi extender to make sure they are always getting the best signal possible, whether that is for working from home or just playing games without your wifi constantly cutting out.

-How to set up-
The TP-Link TL-WA860RE N300 Universal Range Extender is a great choice for a wifi extender, as it is one of the cheapest available and takes minutes to set up.
You simply plug in the wifi extender close to your wifi box
press the WPS button on your wfi box and then the button that looks like a lock on the side of the extender, the LED will go from flashing green to solid green, showing the connection was successful, if the light turns of it means the connection has failed.
once paired you can unplug the extender and move it to your desired location.
Once at desired location if the light is a solid green it has good signal and is an ideal location, if it is a solid orange it is too close to the wifi box, and if it is flashing orange it is too far away from the main wifi box.

Pros:
The range extender is compatible with most routers and devices, making it easy to set up and use.
The built-in extra power outlet allows you to plug in additional devices, such as lamps or small appliances, without taking up an extra outlet.
