This 2 in 1 galaxy star projector is one of the cheapest and simplest to use on the market, and with a built in blue tooth speaker that is surprisingly good quality it is definitely a must for anyone wanting to bring a relaxing atmosphere to a chill night at home, or even as a party light as it can really light up a room with its wide projection range.
Pros
Good quality Bluetooth speaker
Great ambient party light
Easy to use
Cheap compared to competitors
Cons
Remote control is essential
Unit itself is very bright - could be pro?
Very simple patterns
You can customize the configuration of lights choosing between red, green, blue and white. you can also adjust the brightness between low, medium and high. The colours are vivid and the lights are bright. The LED light and laser can be operated independently or turned off completely leaving you with just the Bluetooth Speaker.
You can choose whether to display static colours or change how quickly the patterns of colour move to suit the mood. The lights can also move in time with music by pressing the microphone button on the remote, The music can be played from anywhere for this to work, not just through the device meaning it's great for parties.
A power adaptor isn’t included with this projector, However It can also be powered using any USB output — we currently have it plugged into a power bank to take it anywhere with us. 2 x AAA batteries (not included) are required for the remote and some functionality isn’t possible without using it.
This projector come with a remote control that is a must if you want to use it to its fullest, so if you loose the remote you will only be able to use very basic functions on the main device itself, you will be unable to change the configuration or speed of colours, set the sleep timer, or use present modes.
The lights and lasers themselves shine bright and vivid, whilst there aren't as many colour combinations as other projector lights on the market, the combinations and patterns caused by the dome do help create a peaceful environment or a colourful party atmosphere.
The Bluetooth speaker, which can be used with or without the lights and laser is very simple to pair. You can adjust the volume, or navigate backward and forwards between songs using the same remote as you control the lights with. The only small issue is that you can't pause/start music using the remote or the control panel. all in all, we had expected the speaker to be of poorer quality than it is. It's never going to win any awards for its sound performance and as with many cheaper Bluetooth speakers, it lacks bass. But for background music, or listening to a podcast or audiobook it is more than adequate.
This projector works great as a mood setter or an alternative to a night light for kids who are scared of the dark which displays galaxy/nebula-esque patterns on the ceiling. The speaker is a nice bonus, plus the sound is actually pretty good.
So what is our final verdict, for its very cheap price, bright vivid colours and pattern options, the surprisingly good sound system for what it is, and how easy the whole device is to set up and use, we would rate this product 4/5 stars, and a brilliant gift for children and adults a like.
